Lysica (Hungarian Trencsénladány - until 1902 Liszica , 1902 to 1907 Trencsénkopár ) is a Slovak municipality in Okres Žilina , in the southern parts of the Kysucká vrchovina in a side valley ( Rúbanskový potok ) of the Varínka river , about 14 km west of Žilina .
history
The place is first mentioned in writing in 1475 as Lyzica and at that time it belonged to the rule of Starý hrad / Óvár. The inhabitants mainly worked in agriculture and ranched cattle, but also made cloth, wooden objects and tools. During the Slovak National Uprising, German associations burned the settlements of Kramarovia and Ďurčovia (both north-east of the town on the municipal border with Lutiše ) and spent the majority of the men in concentration camps. In 1976 the place got a central drinking water supply, since 1996 a connection to the gas network.
