history
The name of the village appears for the first time in sources from the 11th century. At that time it was called Riannum or Rianz . Originally it was a fiefdom of the chapter of Saint-Sauveur. In 1348 Queen Joan I handed the village over to Raymond d'Agoult . Later it was part of the rule of Valbelle and Castellane . During the construction of the Saint-Laurent church, the lifeless body of a woman from the Fabri family was found in a very good state of preservation. She was venerated like a saint, her body decayed after it was taken to the penitential chapel.
