The Scottish League Cup was played for the 6th time in 1951/52 . The Scottish Football League Cup, which was played among the participants of the Scottish Football League , began on August 11, 1951 and ended with the final on October 27, 1951 in Hampden Park in Glasgow . The final was played between Dundee FC and Glasgow Rangers . Dundee FC became champions of the second most important cup competition in Scotland for the first time with a 3-2 win. The Rangers missed the third title after 1947 and 1949 in the League Cup by losing the final.
