history

Feldhorst was created on January 1, 1978 from a merger of the previously independent municipalities Havighorst b. Bad Oldesloe and Steinfeld . The name is a made-up word that was formed from the final syllables of both communities.

Havighorst

Havighorst was first mentioned in documents in 1327 when it was sold to Reinfeld Abbey. After the monastery was dissolved in the course of the Reformation , Havighorst was assigned to the lordly office of Reinfeld. Its residents had to do manual and tensioning services for the Steinhof Vorwerk until 1772 .

After the annexation of Schleswig-Holstein by Prussia , Havighorst has belonged to the newly formed Stormarn district since 1867 . With the introduction of the Prussian municipal constitution in 1889, it was assigned to the Rehhorst district and, with the reorganization after the Second World War, came to the Reinfeld office in 1948. Havighorst has been part of the Nordstormarn district since 1972 . At the time of the merger with Steinfeld, the place had 208 inhabitants.

Steinfeld

Steinfeld was first mentioned in a document in 1149 in a document from Heinrich the Lion. In this a Marcradus de Steenvelde is mentioned as a witness. Marcradus de Steenvelde is the only historically known resident of the medicinal spa area in the 12th century.

As early as the 14th century, the Havighorst district had a chapel that belonged to the Reinfeld monastery . Both districts became Lutheran during the Reformation .
