Qaf (sura)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Qaf ( Arabic ق, DMG Qāf  ' Qaf ') is the 50th sura of the Koran , it contains 45 verses . It begins after the introductory Basmala with the letter Qaf , from which the name of the sura is derived. Her preaching belongs to the second Meccan period (615–620), with the exception of verse 38, which was written in Medina . He describes the creation of heaven and earth as a six-day work and at the same time turns against the Jewish doctrine of the Sabbath with the words: "and we were not affected by fatigue". The content of the sura deals with common topics: confrontation with the unbelievers , praise of the divine creation, reference to earlier unbelievers in the history of the prophets , and the announcement of the divine judgment .
