Traian Vuia (until 1950: Bujoru , Hungarian: Bozsorfo ) is a municipality in Timiș County , in the Banat region , in southwest Romania . The villages of Jupani , Săceni , Sudriaș , Surducu Mic and Susani also belong to the Traian Vuia municipality .

Geographical location

Traian Vuia is located in the east of the Timiș County, on the national road DN 68 and on the European route E673 , 85 kilometers from the district capital Timișoara .

history

The place Bozsorfo (Romanian: Bujoru ) was first mentioned in a document in 1453. At the time of the Josephine land survey of 1717, Bujoru had 30 houses.

The Treaty of Trianon on June 4, 1920 resulted in the Banat being divided into three parts , whereby Bujoru fell to the Kingdom of Romania .

In 1872 the Romanian aviation pioneer Traian Vuia was born in Bujoru. The municipality was named after him in 1950.
