The Beyoncé Experience is a 2007 worldwide concert tour by American singer, songwriter, and actress Beyoncé Knowles. The tour comes seven months after the release of Beyoncé's second album, B’Day, and coincides with the re-release of the album, called B'Day Deluxe Edition. The tour has already visited Japan, Australia, Europe, and North America. The tour will commence its final leg in October, visiting Europe again, as well as the Middle East and Asia in November. The tour, whose sponsors are Samsung and L'Oréal Paris, is expected to conclude in late November of this year at Taipei, Taiwan.

History

Unusual for a major tour, Beyoncé will be backed by a ten-piece all-female band which were chosen via nationwide audition.[1] Similarly, Beyoncé held open auditions in cities in late 2006 for ten dancers for the tour;[2] these auditions continued during early 2007.[3] The concert involves only 4 male participants, Beyonce's male dancers. Rehearsals for the tour began in March 2007, in New York City. Knowles also has three backing singers for the tour, all from her home town, Houston, Texas. The first concert/major leg of the tour began on April 10 at the 55,000-seat Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, and ended with two dates at The Point , Dublin, in Ireland. The North American shows/2nd major leg, began on July 6 at the Superdome in New Orleans, as part of the 2007 New Orleans Essence Music Festival, where Beyoncé headlined. [4] This extensive leg finished up on September 15th 2007, at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg. There is one further major leg of the tour, which starts later this year.

Cancelled Dates

Knowles was supposed to visit Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on November 1 2007. The show has been cancelled as she refused to comply with the dress code of the country. [9][10] The dress code meant she would have to change many of her outfits as women have to be covered up from their shoulders to their knees.

Instead Knowles will be performing in Jakarta, Indonesia on that day to replace the concert.[11]
