The A147 is a trunk road in Russia . It leads from the Dschubga settlement northwest of Tuapse over more than 200 km along the Black Sea coast to the Georgian ( Abkhazian ) border. It is part of the Europastraße 97 .
At the time of the Soviet Union the road continued as the M27 via Tbilisi , capital of the Georgian SSR at that time , to Baku , capital of the Azerbaijani SSR . Until the 1990s, the section from the Abrau-Djurso settlement near Novorossiysk along the Black Sea coast to Jubga also belonged to the M27 within Russia . However, when the former A147 from Krasnodar was expanded over the main Caucasus ridge to Jubga and the M4 extended beyond Krasnodarwas upgraded, the 114 km long Jubga - Novorossiysk section also joined the M4. In 2010, the remaining section of the M27 was given the now vacant number A147.
