history

Until the church is planted

As the name Altdorf suggests, the place is very old. In 789 the place was first mentioned in a written source. The next later mention in a document of the Niederaltaich monastery dates back to the year 864. During excavations in the course of road construction work, six post pits were uncovered in a rectangle of 3 m × 7 m, which was considered to be a wooden church from the 2nd half of the 7th century be interpreted appropriately. Pfettrach with the name Phetarah appears in a handover book of the Mondsee Monastery dating from around 800 . Eugenbach was listed as Yupinpach on November 11, 822 in a document from the Regensburg Monastery .

Altdorf belonged to the Landshut Rent Office and the Rottenburg Regional Court of the Electorate of Bavaria . In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria , today's municipality was created with the municipal edict of 1818 .

21st century

On July 16, 2004, State Secretary Georg Schmid presented the Altdorf community with the market survey certificate .

energy

Today (as of February 21, 2014), electricity consumption in the Altdorf market is around 83,708 MWh / year. This contrasts with around 9,927 MWh / year of electricity produced on the market from renewable energy sources (recorded by the EEG - Renewable Energy Act ). This means that the share of electricity from renewable energies is 12% (for comparison: in the Landshut district this share is 43%). The largest expansion took place between 2009 and 2013.

Biomass

Around 171 MWh / year are generated in a biomass plant in the area of the Altdorf market. The biogas plant is located in:

  • Altdorf - 7 kW electric .

Photovoltaics

Almost 9,521 MWh / year of solar power are produced in the Altdorf market area with 457 systems on the roofs of private, commercial or agricultural buildings. The installed electrical output is almost 9 MW peak .

Wind power

So far there has been no wind turbine in the municipality . By decision of January 13, 2014, the government of Lower Bavaria declared the sixth ordinance amending the Landshut regional plan to be binding, which regulates the availability of areas for wind power. This provides for neither priority areas nor reserved areas for the Altdorf market. Nevertheless, as of April 2013, the market was in the process of changing the land use plan in order to identify concentration zones for the use of wind power. According to the building permit, which was available in November 2014, the construction of two 180 and 200 m high wind turbines in a forest area near Heindlfeld was planned in 2015/2016 as part of a public participation model to supply 3,000 households

Resistance arose against the construction of the wind turbines in the form of the citizens' initiative "Gegenwind". The "Association for Landscape Management & Species Protection" fought against it in court. After multiple court disputes about the applicability of the 10H rule , EnBW will build a wind turbine near Pfettrach in spring 2020 .

Hydropower

Around 235 MWh / year are generated in two hydropower plants in the area of the Altdorf market. The hydropower plants are located in:

  • Pfettrach - 6 kW electrical and 5 kW electrical .

  • Two primary schools with 39 teachers who taught 609 students in 29 classes (school year 2010/11).

There is a music school called "Villa Musica".

traffic

Streets

The Altdorf market is connected to the federal motorway 92 (main traffic artery in the Isar valley between Munich and Deggendorf) with its own junction. The federal road 299, which connects the Bavarian chemical triangle with the industrial site between Neustadt an der Donau and Ingolstadt , runs through the municipality . Due to the high volume of traffic, there has been a bypass Pfettrach for a long time to relieve through traffic and heavy traffic. The € 8.6 million Altdorf northern bypass as an extension of the B 299 behind the A 92 was released in October 2012 after a year of construction in order to relieve the center of the main load of through traffic (approx. 12,000 vehicles per day).

In the course of the construction work, the Am Aicher Feld industrial area was developed next to the A 92, where numerous retail businesses have settled. A few years ago, Altdorf was given a southern bypass, which primarily relieved the district of Eugenbach, opened up the commercial and industrial area Altdorf-Süd and connected the towns of Gündlkofen and Bruckberg to Landshut Central Station and the industrial areas Landshut-Bayerwald and Landshut-Nord.

Airfield

10 km west of Altdorf is the Ellermühle airfield (airfield) in the city of Landshut.

train

The Landshut – Rottenburg railway line, which ran through the municipality and opened on November 3, 1900, was used for passenger traffic until May 25, 1974 and freight traffic until 1998. From Neuhausen the tracks were dismantled. On the remaining section Landshut-Neuhausen found by the Bayern Bahn a heritage railway traffic instead. With the (as far as possible) closure of this railway line, Altdorf also lost its rail connection, the next station is now Landshut Hauptbahnhof .

bus

Altdorf is connected to the public transport network by lines 1, 6 and 8 of the Landshuter Stadtwerke as well as some regional bus routes.
