The Apia International Sydney 2014 was a WTA hard court tennis tournament for women in Sydney . It was part of the 2014 WTA Tour as a premier category tournament and took place from January 3-11, 2014.

Another women's tournament in Hobart as part of the International category of the WTA Tour 2014 also took place at the same time from January 3rd to 11th, 2014.

The winner in the individual was the unseeded Bulgarian Zwetana Pironkowa , who fought her way from qualification to the final against Angelique Kerber and celebrated her first tournament victory on the WTA Tour with 6: 4, 6: 4 . During the tournament, she beat three top 10 players in the last three rounds in a total of eight games with Sara Errani , Petra Kvitová and Angelique Kerber. In doubles, the unseed pairing Tímea Babos / Lucie Šafářová won against the world number one and top seeded Sara Errani / Roberta Vinci .

The qualification for the Apia International Sydney 2014 took place from 3rd to 5th January 2014. Four qualifying places were played that entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament.
