The Bourne Identity (2002)

A man is found floating in the Mediterranean Sea with two gunshot wounds in his back and an object with a Swiss safe deposit box number on his hip. After reaching the coast, he goes to the locker. On the basis of a passport found in this name, he suspects that his name is Jason Bourne. Furthermore, there are other international passports, a large amount of different currencies and a pistol in the locker. He tries to find out his true identity step by step while he has to face murder attempts by CIA assassins. Ultimately, he finds out that he is one of those assassins whose last job went wrong. Bourne breaks ties with the CIA and teams up with Marie Kreutz. It helps him regain his last memories from memory loss. Bourne's conflict with the CIA culminates when he carries the battle into their “living room”.

The Bourne Conspiracy (2004)

About two years after finding out he was an assassin and breaking contact with the CIA, Jason Bourne is haunted by memories of his first mission. An assassination attempt leads to Marie's death, and he decides to seek revenge by hunting down those responsible for her death and his forgotten past. Bourne discovers that Ward Abbott, the former head of Operation Treadstone - the program that turned Bourne into an assassin - stole millions of dollars from the CIA. Abbott wanted to blame Bourne for the embezzlement and believes Bourne was killed as intended. Bourne exposes Abbott in front of Pamela Landy - the CIA agent hired to find Bourne - and Abbott commits suicide. During a long chase, the Russian killer - who was paid to kill Bourne and who is responsible for Marie's death - is killed, and Bourne goes underground.

The Bourne Ultimatum (2007)

Six weeks later, Bourne notices that a British journalist is investigating his past and contacts him to find out who its source is. Bourne then becomes the target of Operation Blackbriar, an expanded version of Operation Treadstone that has also been investigated. Believing Bourne is a danger and seeking revenge, Blackbriar's chief operations officer, Noah Vosen, begins another hunt for Bourne. Bourne manages to get secret documents that prove that Blackbriar was aimed at US citizens. He is supported by Landy, who disagreed with Vosen from the start and disapproves of Blackbriar, as well as former Treadstone logistician Nicky Parsons, who - as is implied - romantic before Bourne's last mission and the resulting memory loss Had feelings for Bourne. Eventually, Bourne comes face-to-face with the person who a few years earlier oversaw his behavior adjustment as the first Treadstone agent. Those responsible for Treadstone and Blackbriar are exposed, and Bourne disappears underground.

The Bourne Legacy (2012)

Jeremy Renner took on the lead role in the fourth part.

The Blackbriar and Treadstone Programs became public, prompting the FBI and the United States Senate Select Committee on Intelligence to determine who was responsible. Retired Air Force Colonel Eric Byer, who oversees the CIA's covert operations, decides to end Outcome and liquidate his agents. Cross manages to thwart several attacks on his life and goes in search of more Chems as his run out. Cross ultimately gets to Dr. Marta Shearing, his last chance to get more chems. She tells him about a possibility to improve his skills permanently. The two travel to a factory in Manila in the Philippines. You are successful and manage to escape multiple attacks.

Jason Bourne (2016)

Several years after his disappearance in The Bourne Ultimatum , Jason Bourne reappears. Worldwide confidence in governments has since been severely diminished by the Greek sovereign debt crisis and the global surveillance and espionage affair exposed by Edward Snowden . The CIA has seen better days too , and is launching a new program called Iron Hand , which aims to track down Bourne again. Nicky Parsons, who has returned from exile, is able to hack into the CIA's servers and find Bourne in Athens, but is shot by former Blackbriar agent Asset. From the information he received from Parsons, Bourne discovers that his father once started Treadstone. When he tracks down a former agent in London, CIA agent Heather Lee sees her chance to meet Bourne in person. The CIA director Robert Dewey is only interested in the murder of Bourne, as he once commissioned Asset to murder Bourne's father. Bourne and Lee team up and manage to kill Dewey and Asset together.

production

According to director Doug Liman, he had been a fan of Robert Ludlum's book The Bourne Identity since reading it in high school. Shortly before the filming of Liman's previous film Swingers was finished , Liman decided to make a film of the book. After more than two years of securing the rights to the book from Universal Studios and another year of script development with screenwriter Tony Gilroy, the two-year filming began. Liman turned to a number of well-known actors for the role of Bourne, including a. Russell Crowe and Sylvester Stallone before ultimately casting the role with Matt Damon . Liman noted that Damon understood and welcomed that the focus of The Bourne Identity was primarily on the character Jason Bourne and the story, despite the action portion. Production was difficult. During the entire filming process, the script was repeatedly rewritten and Liman had to deal continuously with the people in charge at Universal. Ultimately, The Bourne Identity was released in June 2002.

In June 2003, Universal announced the sequel, The Bourne Conspiracy , directed by British director Paul Greengrass . Jason Bourne appeared in 2016 and was again directed by Greengrass.
