Team changes

The following changes were made before the start of the season:

  • The Cincinnati Cyclones were reactivated after a two-year hiatus and resumed gaming operations.
  • The Texas Wildcatters , which had to suspend the preseason due to damage to their own stadium by Hurricane Katrina , started playing again.
  • The Greenville Grrrowl did not receive a game permit from the ECHL because their financial future was not secure, whereupon they stopped the game.
  • The San Diego Gulls stopped playing after several years with losses.
