Erlenbach bei Marktheidenfeld (officially Erlenbach bei Marktheidenfeld ) is a municipality in the Lower Franconian district of Main-Spessart . The place is on the federal highway 8 between Würzburg and Aschaffenburg and is called a "wine town with a heart".

history
19th century
As part of the high pin Würzburg , which the Frankish Empire circle belonged, Erlenbach was in 1803 in Bavaria's favor secularized , then in the Peace of Pressburg (1805) Archduke Ferdinand of Tuscany to form the Grand Duchy of Wurzburg left with which it finally at 1814 Bavaria fell back. In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria, today's municipality was created with the municipal edict of 1818 .
Incorporations
On January 1, 1975, the previously independent community of Tiefenthal was incorporated.

Culture and sights
- There is a forest adventure trail.
- Events: Wine hiking day every year in May on Ascension Day (SVE), wine festival every year in August (Weinbauverein), numerous multi-day May fires and May forest festivals (DJK-Tiefenthal), pomp and carnival sessions (ECV) as well as many events by various local associations during the carnival season, Street festival of the Linsenspitzer, street festival of the music and choral society (Corpus Christi), events of the volunteer fire brigade Erlenbach (e.g. strong beer festival), annual museum festival of the Erlenbach Home and Improvement Association (HVV) at the beginning of August in the town hall courtyard and many other events.
