Forenza is an Italian commune ( comune ) with 1959 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Potenza in Basilicata . The municipality is located about 25 kilometers north-northeast of Potenza and belongs to the Comunità Montana Alto Bradano .
history
Forenza was founded on the ruins of the Samnite city of Forentum . The Romans occupied the city in 317 BC. In the middle of the 6th century the ancient city was destroyed.
