Castle and place Trecchina

Trecchina is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 2222 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Potenza in Basilicata . The municipality is located about 67.5 kilometers south-southwest of Potenza , belongs to the Comunità montana Lagonegrese and borders directly on the province of Cosenza .

history

It is sometimes assumed that the village can be traced back to the Roman town of Terentiana (founded around 317 BC). According to another opinion, it should be a Greek foundation called Trakinie . In any case in 1079 the place is mentioned as Triclina .

Trecchina has had a partnership with the Brazilian Jequié in Bahia since 1963 .
