San Paolo Albanese (in Arbëresh , IPA : [ar'bəreʃ] : Shën Pali Arbëreshë , called Casalnuovo Lucano from 1936 to 1962 ) is a southern Italian municipality founded by Arbëresh ( IPA : [ar'bəreʃ] ) in the province of Potenza in the region Basilicata and has 228 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019).

The municipality is located about 80.5 kilometers southeast of Potenza in the Pollino National Park , belongs to the Comunità montana Val Sarmento and borders directly on the province of Cosenza in Calabria .
The political groups include Cornalita and Felicita. The neighboring municipalities are Alessandria del Carretto , Cersosimo , Noepoli , San Costantino Albanese and Terranova di Pollino .
