The Girasweiher is a 1.1 hectare large pond in the area of Baden-Wuerttemberg community Bergatreute in the district of Ravensburg in Germany .

The privately owned pond is at an altitude of 599 m above sea level. NHN and around 1.8 kilometers south-east of Bergatreut town center, near the hamlets of Giras in the south-east and Witschwende in the north-west.
Hydrology
The pond has a catchment area of around six hectares. With a size of 1.1 hectares, an average depth of 1.3 meters and a maximum depth of 2.4 meters, the volume of the lake is around 14,100 cubic meters.
The “Girasweiher” is fed via small ditches and the elf pond to the northeast .
The "Girasweiher" runs over the Mahlbach and Mahlweiher into the Wolfegger Ach to Lake Constance and thus into the Rhine and ultimately into the North Sea .

Bergatreute has been involved in the action program for the rehabilitation of Upper Swabian lakes with the “Girasweiher” since 2000 . An important goal of this program is to reduce nutrient inputs in streams, lakes and ponds and thereby improve and maintain the condition of the water bodies.
The catchment area of the pond is used 25 percent for forest and 75 percent for agriculture - of which 78% grassland and 22% arable land.
