Hydrology

The lake, which was formed at the end of the last ice age around 16,000 years ago, now has a catchment area of ​​around 84 hectares. The size of the water surface is 3.2 hectares, with an average depth of 2.4 meters and a maximum depth of 3.8 meters, the volume is around 78,100 cubic meters.

The main inflow of the lake is via groundwater and several ditches, the outflow via the Wiesenbach and the Krebsgraben to the Schwaigfurter Weiher and from there via the Schussen into Lake Constance / Rhine and ultimately into the North Sea .
