The bathing pond is a still water in the area of the Baden-Württemberg community Uttenweiler in the district of Biberach in Germany .
location
The one hectare large swimming pond , approximately one kilometer south of the town center Uttenweiler at an altitude of 597.1 meters above sea level. Located near the NHN , it is used as fishing and bathing water (lido).
Hydrology
The lake, which was created before 1900, now has a catchment area of around 310 hectares. The size of the water surface is 1 hectare, with an average depth of 2.0 meters and a maximum depth of 3.2 meters, the volume is around 19,500 cubic meters.
The main inlet of the lake is the Kügelegraben coming from the south from a boggy area , which flows through the lake and then also the Schlossmühleweiher and ultimately drains via the Reutibach into the Danube and thus to the Black Sea .
ecology
Since 2015 Uttenweiler is the swimming pond on the action program for the rehabilitation of Upper Swabian lakes involved. An important goal of this program is to reduce nutrient inputs in streams, lakes and ponds and thereby improve and maintain the condition of the water bodies.
15 percent of the catchment area of the lake is used for forest and 85 percent for agriculture - mainly arable land (60%) and grassland (25%).
