The Wielandsee is a body of water in the area of ​​the Baden-Württemberg city ​​of Tettnang in the Lake Constance district in Germany.

location and size

The lake is located about seven kilometers southeast of the center of Tettnang, east of the Wielandsweiler district and west of Oberwolfertsweiler , in a landscape protection area ( FFH area ) at an altitude of 476.3  m above sea level. NHN . The lake is privately owned.

The size of the water surface is 2.5 hectares (about 170 meters × 70 meters), its maximum depth is 3.2 meters, the average depth is 1.9 meters; this results in a lake volume of around 47,500 cubic meters . The 450 meter long shore zone is flat and overgrown with the plants typical of silting zones . The catchment area of ​​the Wielandsee covers around 147 hectares; 20 percent of this is forests and 70 percent is used for agriculture (90 percent of which is grassland and 10 percent specialty crops).

Emergence

Like the lying near Deger- , Muttel- and Schleinsee was the Wielandsee towards the end of the last ice age as meltwater. The main tributary of the lake is the stream from the Kammerweiher and the nature reserve Hirrensee . The water of the Wielandsee flows over a meadow ditch and the Argen into Lake Constance and thus into the river system of the Rhine .
