The Altshauser Weiher is a still water in the area of the Baden-Württemberg community Altshausen in the district of Ravensburg in Germany .

The 10.3 hectare (ha) large Altshauser Weiher naturally belongs to the Upper Swabian hill country . It is located west of Altshausen, directly on the federal highway 32 , at an altitude of 582 m above sea level. NHN .
description
The pond was created in 1276 by knights of the Teutonic Order as a fishing water. In the course of time it was given different names: Alter Weiher, Altshäuser See, Altweiher, Altshauser Altweiher and Großer Weiher.
Hydrology
The catchment area of the Altshauser Weiher is around 1248 ha; 19 percent of this is used for forestry and 74 percent for agriculture.
The pond is mainly fed by the Ragenreuter Bach , the drainage takes place over the Hühler Ach in the Schussen .
With an area of 10.3 hectares and an average depth of 1.8 m (max. Depth = 3.5 m; in 1829 it was still 8.6 m, in 1960 it was subsided), the volume of the lake is around 189,000 cubic meters.
