The Holzmühleweiher is a still water in the area of the Baden-Württemberg community Vogt in the district of Ravensburg in Germany .
location
The approximately 3.1 hectare (ha) large wood mill pond naturally belongs to the Westallgäu hill country . It is about two kilometers southwest of the center of Vogter, between the hamlets of Edensbach , Reckendürren , Mosisgreut and the wood mill that gives it its name , at an altitude of 655 m above sea level. The pond , first mentioned in 1818, was around four times as large until it was partially drained in the middle of the 19th century, and the corresponding terrain level can still be seen. Today the Holzmühleweiher is a sought-after fishing water and is used as fishing water. There is a small lido on its northwestern bank.
Since 1995 the pond has been part of the designated Jungmoränenlandschaft protected landscape area between Amtzell and Vogt . Due to its poor water quality, the Holzmühleweiher was included in the " Action Program for the Rehabilitation of Upper Swabian Lakes " of the Tübingen Regional Council.
Hydrology
The catchment area of the Holzmühleweiher is around 775 ha; 15 percent of this is used as forest and 75 percent as agricultural area. With an area of 3.1 ha and an average depth of 1.5 m (max. Depth = 3.8 m), the volume of the lake is around 47,700 cubic meters.
The pond is mainly fed by a meadow brook from the Scheibensee , the outflow is via the Eggenbach and the Haslach into the Untere Argen .
