The Buchsee is a still water in the area of ​​the Baden-Württemberg municipality Fronreute in the district of Ravensburg in Germany .

location

The 6.7 hectare large Buchsee , about two kilometers northwest of the town center Fronreuter the hamlet Buchsee and at an altitude of 575.9  meters above sea level. NHN , is privately owned and is used as fishing and bathing water for a campsite.

Hydrology

The lake that was formed in a dead ice hole during the last ice age now has a catchment area of ​​around 246 hectares. The size of the water surface is 6.7 hectares, with an average depth of 1.1 meters and a maximum depth of 1.7 meters, the volume is around 76,400 cubic meters.

The main inflow of the lake takes place via groundwater inflow and from the Häcklerweiher , the outflow via the Schreckensee and the Hühler Ach zur Schussen , thus to Lake Constance or Rhine and ultimately into the North Sea .
