Hainburger Haydn Society
The Hainburger Haydngesellschaft is an association founded in 1981 to promote musical culture in the Hainburg an der Donau area in Lower Austria .
history
The Hainburger Haydn Society was founded in 1981 in Hainburg an der Donau - in the place where the eponym Joseph Haydn received his first music lessons from 1738 to 1740. Between 1981 and 2008 the events took place in the tobacco factory Hainburg in the dining room, which had been acoustically revised especially for the concerts. The Kulturfabrik Hainburg has been providing the framework for the events since September 2008 .
aims
The aim of the Hainburger Haydn Society has been the cross-border idea since the beginning. In this sense, in addition to Austrian artists, musicians from the neighboring countries Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Hungary as well as from Korea, Japan and the USA will perform. A podium is offered in particular to young, promising talents. With its artistic profile, the association endeavors to carry on the innovative spirit of Joseph Haydn. Accordingly, the programmatic arc spans from baroque music to jazz and contemporary compositions . Works by the contemporary composer Manuela Kerer and the Austrian composer Jovan Pesec were performed. In the year of its 35th anniversary (2016), works by the Austrian composers Roland Batik and Paul Hertel were premiered .
Orchestra concerts, chamber music , solo evenings , opera galas, choir concerts and music cabaret are offered in nine concerts a year .
