The Hengelesweiher area is a nature reserve (NSG number 4.171) designated by ordinance of August 2, 1990 by the Tübingen Regional Council in the area of ​​the Baden-Württemberg community of Isny im Allgäu in the Ravensburg district in Germany .

location

The approximately 53 hectare large nature reserve Hengelesweiher , named after the Hengelesweiher , is one natural area to Westallgäuer hills . It is located about 3.5 kilometers southeast of the town center of Isny, south of the federal highway 12 , in the district Großholzleute , at an altitude of 722  m above sea level. NN . The conservation area is traversed by the Maierhöfer Bach , which is dammed up here by natural conditions to form a pond and flows a few hundred meters further into the Untere Argen .

Protection purpose

The main protection purpose is the preservation of the Hengelesweiher, its characteristic silting zones and the adjoining reed areas as defining elements of the cultural landscape in the natural area and as an ecologically valuable habitat mosaic of a species-rich and sometimes highly endangered animal and plant world in the network of the Upper Swabian wetlands.
