Joseph Sullivan MNZM (born April 11, 1987 in Rangiora ) is a New Zealand rower who won the world title in double sculls in 2010 and 2011 .

In 2005, Sullivan took bronze in a double scull with Daniel Karena at the Junior World Championships . In 2007 he and Nathan Cohen took fifth place at the World Cup in Amsterdam. At the U23 World Championships in 2007 Sullivan won in a single , and one year he repeated this success at the U23 World Regatta . In 2009 he won the U23 World Championships together with Robert Manson in a double scull. In 2010, Joseph Sullivan and Nathan Cohen formed the New Zealand double scull in the adult class, after finishing seventh at the World Cup in Munich and third in Lucerne, the two won the title at the 2010 World Rowing Championships on Lake Karapiro on the North Island of New Zealand. That Sullivan and Cohen were not only successful in front of their home crowd, they showed in 2011 with World Cup victories in Hamburg and Lucerne as well as successfully defending their title at the 2011 World Rowing Championships in Bled. At the 2012 Olympic Games in London , Cohen and Sullivan rowed the gold medal in front of the Italian two-man.
