Krasnoje ( Russian Красное , German  Agilla , 1938–1945 Haffwerder , Lithuanian Agila ) is a place in the Russian Oblast of Kaliningrad . It belongs to the local government unit Stadtkreis Polessk in Polessky District .

Geographical location

The village is located in the northwest of the historic East Prussia region , eight kilometers northeast of Polessk (Labiau) on the southeast coast of the Curonian Lagoon and on the Polesski Canal ( Großer Friedrichsgraben ).

history

Agilla northeast of Königsberg on the southeast bank of the Curonian Lagoon on a map from 1910.

The fishing village formerly known as Agilla was incorporated into the then newly established district of Groß Friedrichsgraben in 1874. In 1785 the size of the royal fishing village is given with eight hearths (households).

Until 1945 the village belonged to the Labiau district in the Königsberg administrative district of the East Prussian province of the German Empire . On June 3rd - officially confirmed on July 16th - 1938 Agilla was renamed Haffwerder . Towards the end of the Second World War , the place was occupied by the Red Army in January 1945 . In the summer of 1945 Haffwerder was placed under Soviet administration by the Soviet occupying power, along with the entire northern half of East Prussia.

In 1947 the place was given the Russian name Krasnoye and was assigned at the same time to the village soviet Ilyichovsky selski sovet in Polessk Raion . Later the place came into the Golowkinski selski Sowet . From 2008 to 2016 Krasnoye belonged to the rural municipality of Golovkinskoye selskoje posselenije and since then to the urban district of Polessk.

On the side of the canal facing the Curonian Lagoon, municipal road 27K-146 runs from Polessk (Labiau) to Matrossowo (Gilge) . In contrast to the time before 1945, there is no longer a car ferry across the canal.

The nearest train stations are the Polessk (Labiau) city train station and the Scholochowo (Schelecken / Schlicken) station on the Kaliningrad – Sowetsk railway line (Königsberg – Tilsit) .

church

Until 1853 the mostly Protestant inhabitants of Agilla visited the town church Labiau (Russian: Polessk). After that, the place was included in the parish of Gilge Church (Russian: Matrossowo) that has since called itself "Gilge-Agilla parish". When in 1909 in Juwendt (1938-1946: Möwenort, Russian: Rasino) an independent parish was founded (within the parish association of the Gilge Church), Agilla came to her pastoral care district. The parish Gilge-Agilla / Juwendt was until 1945 part of the parish of Labiau in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union .

Today Krasnoje lies in the catchment area of two Evangelical Lutheran congregations that were newly established in the 1990s: both the one in Polessk (Labiau) and that in Golowkino (Nemonien , 1938–1946 Elchwerder) . Both are assigned to the parish of the Church of the Resurrection in Kaliningrad (Königsberg) in the Kaliningrad provost of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of European Russia .
