La Ronde is a French commune with 1,050 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017), in the department of Charente-Maritime and in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016: Poitou-Charentes ) is located. It belongs to the arrondissement of La Rochelle and the canton of Marans (until 2015: canton of Courçon ). The inhabitants are called Rondelais .
geography
La Ronde is about 15 kilometers east-northeast of La Rochelle . The Sèvre Niortaise limits the municipality to the north. La Ronde is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Maillé (Vendée) in the north and north-west, Damvix in the north-east, Saint-Hilaire-la-Palud in the east and south-east, La Grève-sur-Lignon in the south and south-east, Courçon in the south, and Saint-Cyr -du-Doret in the south and southwest and Taugon in the west.
