- Berlin / Germany : The " Jugendradio Fritz " starts broadcasting its program at 6:00 am as a joint radio broadcaster for the public broadcasters Ostdeutscher Rundfunk Brandenburg and Sender Freies Berlin . The successor to Rockradio B and Radio 4U offers u. a. Pop culture music , news, live broadcasts and cultural reports.
Thursday March 4th 1993
- New York / United States : The FBI security agency arrests the Palestinian Mohammad Salameh in front of a car rental company . An item of evidence with the vehicle ID number of the Chevrolet Nova rented by Salameh was found in the rubble of the underground car park after the February 26 bombing of the World Trade Center .
Friday 5th March 1993
- Skopje / Macedonia : Shortly after take-off, a Fokker 100 operated by Palair Macedonian Airways hits the ground with the right wing , causing its fuselage to break into three parts. 83 of the 97 inmates are killed in the accident.

- Santa Clara / United States : The microprocessor maker Intel starts shipping its new Pentium - processors whose bus is 64 bits wide. The data bus of the previous model still had 16 bits.
Wednesday March 24, 1993
- Cape Town / South Africa : President Frederik Willem de Klerk tells Parliament that South Africa was pursuing a nuclear weapons technology program in the 1980s . This was discontinued a few years ago and all results were destroyed. This is the first time a country has officially given up the development of the atomic bomb .

- Niamey / Niger : In the second round of the presidential elections , Mahamane Ousmane from the Democratic and Social Assembly won 54.42% of the vote against Tandja Mamadou from the National Development Society's Movement .
- Beijing / China : The term of office of Yang Shangkun ( CCP ) as president of his country ends. He has filled this position since April 8, 1988. His successor is Jiang Zemin , who is the first politician since Mao Zedong to also be the party leader of the CCP and commander in chief of the People's Liberation Army .
- Weiterstadt / Germany : Members of the Red Army Faction (RAF) break into the new penal institution in Weiterstadt and trigger an explosion in the still vacant facility with the help of five charges of 40 kg each of commercial explosives.

- Åre / Sweden : In the overall standings of the men's competitions of the Alpine World Cup 1992/93 is the Luxembourg Marc Girardelli after the last race Place 1. He is the first downhill skier with five overall victories in the World Cup. Anita Wachter from Austria wins the current season for women .
- Paris / France : After the second round of parliamentary elections , the Socialist Party of President François Mitterrand and incumbent Prime Minister Pierre Bérégovoy have a disastrous election result. In the National Assembly , her parliamentary group only has 57 out of 577 seats. The conservative alliances, the Gathering Movement for the Republic and the Union for French Democracy, form the strongest and the second largest faction.

- Los Angeles / United States : At the 65th Academy Awards for the film industry , American director Clint Eastwood's Merciless Late West wins the award for best film. Emma Thompson and Al Pacino win the Oscars for Best Actor .
