Vanuatu took part in the 2000 Summer Olympics in the Australian metropolis of Sydney with three athletes, one woman and two men, in three sports.
Since 1988 it was the fourth participation of the island state in the Summer Olympics .
Flag bearer
Track and field athlete Mary-Estelle Mahuk carried the Vanuatu flag during the opening ceremony at Stadium Australia .
