LEDA / PGC 93122 (also NGC 5222-2 ) is a spiral galaxy of the Hubble type Sa in the constellation Virgo on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 307 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 25,000 light years in diameter. Together with NGC 5222 , it forms the interacting double galaxy KPG 383 and with the galaxy NGC 5221 the gravitationally bound galaxy pair Arp 288 .
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 5226 , NGC 5230 , IC 898 , IC 901 .
Halton Arp organized his catalog of unusual galaxies into groups according to purely morphological criteria. This galaxy pair belongs to the class galaxies with wind effects .
