Pozuelo de Alarcón is a city with 86,422 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2019) in the autonomous community of Madrid . It has an area of ​​43.2 km² and is at an altitude of 690  msnm . It is located 15 kilometers west of Madrid on the New Castilian plateau , immediately south of the Castilian Divide Mountains . Pozuelo de Alarcón is located 30 km southeast of the Sierra de Guadarrama, which makes for a cooler climate than Madrid. Since July 2007 Pozuelo has been connected to the Madrid Metro network. The pharmaceutical company Laboratorios Farmacéuticos Rovi is headquartered in Pozuelo de Alarcón.
