The R351 ( Russian Р351 ) is a trunk road of federal importance in Russia . The 328 km long road connects the oblast centers of Yekaterinburg ( Sverdlovsk Oblast ) and Tyumen on the eastern edge of the Urals and in the southwest of the West Siberian lowlands . The road roughly follows the course of the Trans-Siberian Railway between the two cities and is part of European Route 22 . It runs mainly through the southern part of Sverdlovsk Oblast, only for the last 40 km through Tyumen Oblast .
The entire length of the R351 is asphalted and mostly two-lane, but in some sections it is also four-lane and motorway-like , for example from Yekaterinburg to the east of the junction of the R354 at Verkhneje Dubrovo , on a straight, almost 12 km long section west of Tugulym and before Tyumen. Work is being carried out on re-routing some sections; However, a longer section in the Saretschny / Belojarski area that has already been in operation is not yet part of the R351, as the eastern connection to the old route has not yet been completed (as of 2014). Large rivers are not crossed in the flat area; the most important bridge structure is the crossing of the Pyschma before Kamyshlov .
The arterial road from Yekaterinburg on the R351 is traditionally referred to as the Siberian tract , the one from Tyumen in the opposite direction as the Moscow tract.
