Saint-Loup is a commune in the Massif Central in France . It belongs to the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region , the Creuse department , the Aubusson arrondissement and the Gouzon canton . It is bordered by Gouzon to the northwest , Lussat to the north, Tardes to the east, Le Chauchet to the southeast, Saint-Julien-le-Châtel to the south and Pierrefitte to the west . The settlement area is 430 meters above sea level.
history
A Romanesque church was built in the 12th century .
Until 1882 the village was called "Saint-Loup-des-Landes". During the revolution , the name was "Landes-Libres".
