The Steinegg Live Festival is a series of music and cultural events in Steinegg near Bozen in South Tyrol , in which internationally known music groups and musicians, comedians, cabaret artists and actors also perform.

history

A music and culture festival has been taking place in Steinegg since 1996. Various blues festivals were held here from 1993 to 1996, during which the world record in long-term blues games (64 hours of blues without interruption and break) was set. Today's Steinegg Live cultural festival emerged from this event.

The cultural association was founded in 1996 by Matthias Resch (first chairman), Erwin "Peppi" Schroffenegger, Konrad Mahlknecht (current chairman - 2019), Arnold Lunger and Klemens Riegler. Riegler has been responsible for program design since it was founded. Over the years, more board members were added. The board of directors in 2017 consists of seven people. Arnold Lunger has been the deputy chairman since 2017. Other or newer board members are Armin Rieder, Karmen Lantschner, Jasmin Basso and Hannes Lantschner. Matthias Resch and Erwin Schroffenegger are no longer on the board.

procedure

The Steinegg-Live music and culture festival takes place every year between mid-October and the end of October and lasts around two weeks. The event is organized by the cultural association of the same name, Steinegg Live, and many other volunteers. The offer is very broad. The program includes special concerts by well-known artists from the international scene, but also unknown and high-quality performers. In addition to the jazz, blues, rock or songwriter concerts, the festival usually also offers an original folk music evening (Hoangort), a play performed by the Steinegg Live children's and youth theater group, cabaret or concerts with up-and-coming artists from the area. Klemens Riegler from Bolzano has been responsible for the program design since the beginning.

In addition to the big festival in October, the Steinegg Live cultural association also organizes a small series of blues concerts every year after Easter under the name "Steinegg Live In Blues".
