The University of Rome III ( Italian Università degli studi di Roma Tre ) is one of the four state universities in Rome , along with the La Sapienza University , the Tor Vergata University and the Foro Italico University .

The University of Rome III is the third university in chronological order by year of foundation, which is reflected in its name. It was created in 1992 from a spin-off from the older “La Sapienza” university. The University of Rome III has various locations in the city, most of which are in the Ostiense district, not far from Porta San Paolo / Porta Ostiensis.

The University of Rome III consists of eight faculties:

  • Economics
  • jurisprudence
  • Engineering
  • Humanities (literature and philosophy)
  • Educational sciences
  • Mathematics and natural sciences
  • Political science
