The constituency of Görlitz 4 (constituency 60, until 2014: Löbau-Zittau 2 ) is a state electoral district in Saxony . It includes the towns of Seifhennersdorf , Zittau and the communities of Bertsdorf-Hörnitz , Großschönau , Hainewalde , Jonsdorf , Leutersdorf , Mittelherwigsdorf , Oderwitz , Olbersdorf , Oybin in the Görlitz district . In the last state election (in 2019), 48,538 residents were entitled to vote. Earlier designations of the constituency were constituency Sächsische Oberlausitz 2 (1994 and 1999) and constituency Löbau-Zittau 2 (2004 and 2009).
Constituency area
The constituency area, initially designated as constituency Sächsische Oberlausitz 2, was formed in 1994 from the entire former Zittau I and parts of the former constituency Görlitz, Land II - Zittau II - Löbau III . The basis for the initial name was the founding of the Saxon Upper Lusatia District on August 1, 1994. However, there was opposition to this name, so that the eponymous district was renamed the Löbau-Zittau district on January 1, 1995 . The electoral district name was only changed to Löbau-Zittau 2 in the 2004 state election . For the 2014 state elections , the five existing state electoral districts in Upper Lusatia were converted into 4 new electoral districts for demographic reasons. The constituency of Löbau-Zittau 2 was the only one of the previous five constituencies to retain its territory, and has now been renamed the constituency of Görlitz 4.
