The 59th edition of the Wimbledon Championships took place in 1939 on the grounds of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club on Church Road.

For the second time in a row, all titles went to players from the USA . Bobby Riggs and Alice Marble also won the title in all competitions in which they competed (singles, doubles and mixed). It was the last Wimbledon tournament before World War II .

Men's singles

Bobby Riggs defeated his compatriot Elwood Cooke in the final and secured his only individual title at Wimbledon.

Ladies singles

Alice Marble prevailed among the women .

In the men's doubles, Bobby Riggs and Elwood Cooke won .

Ladies doubles

Sarah Fabyan and Alice Marble defended the title in women's doubles .
