The 53rd edition of the Wimbledon Championships took place in 1933 on the grounds of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club on Church Road.

Henry Austin was the first player to appear on center court in shorts that year. In 1946 Yvon Petra was the last player to play regularly in long pants.

Men's singles

The Australian Jack Crawford , who had previously won the Australian and French championships , was able to win the title. In the final, he defeated last year's winner Ellsworth Vines in five sets.

Ladies singles

Helen Wills Moody won her sixth Wimbledon title in singles.

Men's doubles

In the men's doubles, Jean Borotra and Jacques Brugnon defended the title.

Ladies doubles

Simone Mathieu and Elizabeth Ryan were successful in women's doubles .

Mixed

The mixed title went to Hilde Krahwinkel and Gottfried von Cramm .
