The 51st edition of the Wimbledon Championships took place in 1931 on the grounds of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club on Church Road.
Men's singles
Sidney Wood , seeded in seventh place , surprisingly won the men's singles. His final opponent Frank Shields could not compete due to an injury.
Ladies singles
In the absence of multiple winner Helen Wills Moody , Cilly Aussem won the title. She is the first of three German girls to date to win an individual Wimbledon title. In the only purely German Wimbledon final in the women's singles so far, she defeated Hilde Krahwinkel 6: 2 and 7: 5.
Men's doubles
George Lott and John van Ryn won the men's doubles .
Ladies doubles
Phyllis Mudford and Dorothy Shepherd-Barron were successful in women's doubles .
Mixed
The mixed title went to Anna Harper and George Lott .
