The 40th edition of the Wimbledon Championships took place in 1920 on the grounds of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club on Worple Road.
Suzanne Lenglen won the title in all competitions in which she competed (singles, doubles and mixed).
Men's singles
Bill Tilden won his first Wimbledon title.
Ladies singles
Suzanne Lenglen was able to repeat her previous year's success. In the Challenge Round , she beat the challenger Dorothea Douglass-Chambers in two sets.
Men's doubles
The Americans Charles Garland and Richard Norris Williams won the men's doubles .
Ladies doubles
Suzanne Lenglen and Elizabeth Ryan were able to defend their double title. From this year on, no Challenge Round was played in women's doubles ; from 1922 it was also abolished in the other competitions.
Mixed
Suzanne Lenglen and Gerald Patterson won the mixed competition .
