The 72nd edition of the Wimbledon Championships took place in 1958 on the grounds of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club on Church Road.

Due to bad weather, the men's semi-finals had to be held on both Center Court and Court No. 1 to be carried out. The ball boys wore shorts from this year on.

Ashley Cooper won the men’s race .

Ladies singles

Althea Gibson defended her previous year's title. In the final, she beat Angela Mortimer in straight sets.

Swedes Sven Davidson and Ulf Schmidt won the men's doubles .

Ladies doubles

In the women's doubles, Maria Bueno and Althea Gibson won the title.

Mixed

Lorraine Coghlan and Robert Howe won the mixed competition .
