The 56th edition of the Wimbledon Championships took place in 1936 on the grounds of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club on Church Road.
Men's singles
Fred Perry won his third title in a row. In a new edition of last year's final, he sovereignly prevailed against Gottfried von Cramm ; Von Cramm could only win two games in the entire match. Perry was the last Briton to win the Wimbledon individual title until 2013 .
Ladies singles
In the absence of Helen Wills Moody , Helen Jacobs won her only Wimbledon title. In the final, she defeated Hilde Krahwinkel-Sperling in three sets.
Men's doubles
Pat Hughes and Raymond Tuckey were successful in men's doubles .
Ladies doubles
In the women's doubles, Freda James and Kay Stammers defended their title from last year.
Mixed
In mixed, Dorothy Round and Fred Perry also managed to defend their title.
