The Škoda 860 was the larger sister model of the Škoda R 6 . The exclusive car came out in 1929 with different bodies in a wood-steel mixed construction.

Its water-cooled, side-controlled eight-cylinder four-stroke in-line engine had a displacement of 3880 cm³ and an output of 60 hp (44 kW). The engine had overhead valves, the crankshaft had nine bearings, and the pistons were made of light metal. He accelerated the 1265-1850 kg vehicle up to 110 km / h. The drive power was passed on to the rear wheels via the three-speed gearbox flanged to the engine block with a multi-disc clutch and a cardan shaft. The frame of the car was made of riveted steel U-profiles. The axles were equipped with leaf springs and shock absorbers. All possible bodies could be placed on the chassis with a 3.57 m wheelbase (e.g. a convertible sedan body ). In total, only just under 100 vehicles of this luxurious, chauffeur-driven type had been produced by 1933, of which only three survived. This model was replaced by the type 850.
