The Škoda 1101 Tudor was the successor to the 1100 Popular model . The two-door compact car was launched in 1946 as a two-door sedan with a significantly modernized body by the Czechoslovak manufacturer AZNP under the Škoda brand. As in the USA, this design was called "Tudor" (two-door).

The car still had the front and rear forked skeleton frame of its predecessor made of welded steel U-profiles with a central tube. The new body, however, was in the style of the 1940s with headlights integrated into the front fenders and a radiator grille made of 5 chrome-plated cross bars. It was reminiscent of the bodies of contemporary Ford sedans from the USA . The water-cooled OHV four-cylinder in-line engine with 1089  cm³ displacement was taken over from the predecessor and its output increased slightly to 23.5 kW (32 PS). However, the gearbox was now flanged directly to the engine, so the transaxle design was abandoned.

After the Second World War , Škoda began manufacturing the pre-war models Rapid and Popular 995 on a small scale, followed by large numbers of the 1101 from 1946. In addition, from 1949 the Škoda 1102 Tudor with steering wheel gearshift was added . A total of 67,000 copies of both models were produced.

Production of both models was discontinued in 1952.
