The Škoda Octavia IV was presented in Prague on November 11, 2019 and is the fourth generation of the Škoda Octavia . It is available as a sedan and station wagon.

General

Like the VW Golf VIII , the Octavia IV is based on the further developed modular transverse matrix of the Volkswagen Group .

As with the Golf VIII, many functions are integrated in the Octavia touch screen with a screen diagonal of 8.25 to 10 inches (located in the center console).

The Octavia also has new features in the infotainment system.

After the Superb iV, the Octavia iV is the second Škoda model with a plug-in hybrid drive, consisting of a 1.4 liter TSI petrol engine with 110 kW (150 hp) and an 85 kW electric motor. The system output is 150 kW. The Octavia iV also has a lithium-ion battery with an energy content of 13 kWh. This means that the model should drive up to 55 kilometers purely electrically in the WLTP cycle. In addition, several gasoline engines are equipped with mild hybrid technology.

For the first time, a head-up display and matrix light are available for the Octavia. There are also new assistance systems such as evasive and turning assistants and exit warnings.

Octavia RS

The premiere of the sportier RS models was planned for the Geneva Motor Show in March 2020, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting cancellation of the auto show, it took place at the Škoda main plant in Mladá Boleslav .

The Octavia RS presented in March 2020 is powered by the same plug-in hybrid drive that is also used in the Golf VIII GTE , which is why the model is given the suffix iV . Škoda specifies the system output as 180 kW (245 PS). The RS iV should accelerate to 100 km / h in 7.3 seconds, the top speed is specified as 225 km / h. A lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 13 kWh should enable an electrical range of up to 60 km.

At the beginning of July 2020, Škoda presented the Octavia RS with the 180 kW (245 PS) 2.0-liter gasoline engine from the Golf VIII GTI and the 147 kW (200 PS) 2.0-liter diesel engine from the Golf VIII GTD .

Octavia Scout

In June 2020, Škoda presented the Scout equipment line, which is characterized by off-road applications and higher ground clearance . For the first time, the Scout is also being offered with front-wheel drive .

Technical specifications

The Škoda Octavia IV will be available with three turbocharged gasoline engines with direct injection ( TSI ), three diesel engines, a natural gas variant and four different hybrid drives. The TSI engines have a displacement of one liter, three cylinders and an output of 81 kW (110 hp), 1, 5-liter displacement, four cylinders and 110 kW (150 PS) or two-liter displacement, four cylinders and 140 kW (190 PS) The natural gas-powered 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine (TGI) should produce 96 kW (130 PS). The Octavia RS will have a TSI engine with outputs of at least 221 kW (300 PS). Two mild hybrid and two plug-in hybrid versions will be available as hybrid drives . The mild hybrids produce 81 and 110 kW (110 and 150 PS). The two plug-in hybrid variants are 1.4-liter TSI engines that deliver 150 and 180 kW (204 and 245 hp) and can drive around 55 km in all-electric mode. The more powerful of the two plug-in hybrid drives is used in the Octavia RS iV.
