The Škoda Superb III (type code 3V, in the FIN as 'NP') is the third generation of the Superb , which was presented in Prague in February 2015 and which went on sale as a sedan in mid-June 2015. Like its predecessors, the model is produced for the European market at the Škoda plant in Kvasiny ; 250,000 vehicles had rolled off the production line by April 2017. The Superb is registered as a mid-range vehicle at the German Federal Motor Transport Authority. The motor press sorted him into the upper middle class .

The all-wheel drive version of the Superb was voted all-wheel-drive car of the year 2019 by the trade magazine Auto Bild .

Model history

The new generation of the Superb was presented in Prague in mid-February 2015. As with the VW Passat B8, modern driver assistance systems were introduced. The previous 6-cylinder engine with 191 kW was omitted and was replaced by a supercharged version of the 2.0 TSI with 206 kW as the most powerful engine. The Superb III is based on the modular transverse matrix of the Volkswagen Group. Compared to its predecessor, the Superb III has grown in size. In test reports, the large trunk of the Combi comes up again and again, which has a capacity of around 660 liters. The limousine can optionally be configured with a small or large tailgate. Because of its dimensions, the materials used and the increased price level, especially in the highest equipment line Laurin & Klement, it is often referred to as an upper middle class vehicle.

At the same time as the 2019 Ice Hockey World Championship , the revised version of the series was presented in May 2019. It has been available for order since June 2019. In addition to the normal variants, there is also a version called Scout with increased ground clearance for the station wagon and, since October 2019, the plug-in hybrid iV with the same drive train that the VW Passat B8 uses. In addition, instead of the Škoda logo, all models have the company name in letters on the boot lid.

Technical specifications

For the first time with the Superb III an "ACT" (active cylinder technology) mentioned cylinder cut-off at the 1.4-liter gasoline engine with the letters CZDA . As an introduction, the third Superb is being offered with three TSI petrol engines and three TDI diesel engines.
