history

Škoda 1100 GT from behind

The basis for this concept vehicle was the Saab Sonett II. In 1962, the Swedish car manufacturer Saab opened its first agency in what was then Czechoslovakia , and it was operated by the Czech racing driver Zdenek Treybal. In 1968 he sold a Saab Sonett II to AZNP Mladá Boleslav . Because small sports cars were very popular at the end of the 1960s, a sports car based on this Saab model was developed in 1970 in cooperation with the Ústav pro výzkum motorových vozidel (ÚVMV, German Institute for Motor Vehicle Research ) in Prague , today's TÜV SÜD Auto CZ sro Concept worked out. The external appearance was based entirely on the Saab Sonett II, only the front section was inspired by the Ferrari Dino . The vehicle was presented to the public in July 1970 at the "People and Cars - IEMA 70" exhibition in Prague. Although almost ready for series production, there was no series production.
