The Škoda Favorit was the successor to the Škoda 430 D . The four-door mid-range sedan came out in 1936 with a body in a wood / steel mixed construction.

The water-cooled, side-controlled four - cylinder four - stroke engine had a displacement of 1802 cm³ and an output of 38 hp (28 kW). He accelerated the 820–1410 kg heavy vehicle up to 95 km / h. The drive force was passed on to the rear wheels via the gearbox flanged to the engine block and a cardan shaft . The front and rear forked skeleton frame of the car consisted of welded steel U-profiles and had a central tube.

In 1938 the Škoda Favorit 2000 OHV appeared in parallel . It had a completely new, overhead steering four-cylinder four-stroke in-line engine with 2091 cm³ displacement and 55 hp (40 kW). The top speed of the new vehicle was 110 km / h.

169 cars of the model with side-controlled engine were produced in the years 1936–1939, the model with overhead engine brought it to 54 copies in the years 1938–1941.
