The Škoda 422 is a car model from the Czech car manufacturer Škoda Auto and designed as a smaller sister model of the Škoda 430 . It came out in 1930 with various (mostly two-door) bodies in a wood / steel mixed construction. In the same year, the Škoda 422 with an open body cost 33,000 crowns and with a sedan body 37,000 crowns. The car was built until 1932, around 3500 vehicles were sold.

Drive, rear axle and suspension

The frame of the car consists of riveted steel U-profiles and runs trapezoidally towards the front, the rigid axles at the front and rear are suspended from leaf springs, the wheelbase is 2600 mm. The car is right-hand drive. The water-cooled, side-controlled four-cylinder four-stroke gasoline engine has a displacement of 1195 cm³ and a Zenith carburetor as well as a 12-volt battery ignition. The power is 22 HP (16 kW). It accelerates the 950 kg vehicle up to 75 km / h. The drive power is transmitted to the rear wheels via the gearbox flanged to the engine block and a cardan shaft.
